About Us

The farm has been in the family at this location since 1934. Floyd has been actively farming since 1976. He started off pursuing no-till to save the soil. In 1992 Floyd searched for more sustainable methods of farming, using cover crops. This brought Floyd into the organic phase of the farm and transition was started in 1996. Shoal Creek Farm has had every acre certified organic since 2001. Floyd continues to improve the soil structure to be able to grow better crops in a more healthy environment. We welcome visitors to inspect our farm. Please call ahead to see if I am available to give you a tour.
